These are very impressive 8yr MGP barrel proofs that were surprisingly neck and neck with Smoke Wagon Private 8yrs in a blind. If you don't know, quality 8yr MGP barrels at 120+ proof are not so common anymore sadly, so we're extremely excited to share these with all of you
Aroma: The nose on this is wonderfully sweet with rich baking spices, vanilla toffee, and caramel creams. There are beautiful hints of citrus fruit with slight wintergreen candies and almost no burn on the nose. Hard to believe this is 120 proof as we can smell this for days!
Taste: The taste is rich and full with caramels, more vanilla, and a brown sugar bomb on the back of the palate. It's a heavy, oily, and luxurious mouthfeel with more rich baking spice, honey, slight hints of cherries and candied walnuts. It’s the perfect dram to enjoy by a fire or while watching Christmas Vacation with your family.
Finish: The finish is beautiful, and endless that simply just hangs out for a really long time. There’s a nice sweetness with more vanilla and a bit of spice on the end. This is a very enjoyable powerhouse of a dram that hangs on the jawline forever with a very pleasing finish. An incredible value for 8yr Barrel Proof!
